Arctic Indians hunt for their food. Inuit usually eat sea mammals, land animals, and fish. The types of animals they like to hunt are seals, and caribou. 1

                         SHELTER 

 

In the winter, the Inuit and the Aleut Indians live in houses made of blocks of snow called igloos. In the summer, after the snow melts, they live in tent-like huts of animal skins stretched over a frame. 2.

             Geographic Location

 

The Arctic Indian people live in the Arctic. Their homeland stretches from the northeastern tip of Russia across Alaska and northern Canada to parts of Greenland. 3.

                         Religion 

 

The Arctic Indians practice a form of shamanism based of animist principles. They believe that all things have a spirit form. 4.

                         Tools 

 

 

Arctic Indians used many different types of tools. They use them for hunting, for games, and to make other things that they need. They made a tool called the bow drill. It was used for carving things like combs, beads, and needles. 5.
